can design 2.7

can design 2.4

One month after v2.3 I’m pretty excited to be bumping to v2.4. The best part was the complete lack of effort required. If you recall the three points to hit for v2.4 were:

100% no javascript accessibility

This has been complete since v2.3.

better html semantics

This too was pretty much complete since v2.3. I made a handful of little changes but nothing major.

html5 preparedness

I made the decision that this should be pushed out until whenever Firefox 3 is finally released. At that point it should be relatively effortless to make the move to complete html5, ie. getting rid of div/span shims. Instead of html5 preparedness we now have Internet Explorer 6 support to some extent. A number of weird IE6 bugs remain, but compared to the no style version it should be a big improvement.

In other news, I finally noticed that IE7 was looking for my local development copy of the css, which was causing it to get no styling. I guess none of the four IE users minded.
