Just in case you’re one of the five people who care and isn’t on the TextMate mailing list I’ve made a small addition to the Javascript Tools bundle; the YUI! Compressor! Like Dean Edwards’ Packer the YUI! Compressor makes your javascripts smaller. Unlike Dean Edwards’ Packer YUI! Compressor does not use eval() which in my limited testing reduces execution time. Additionally it seems that YUI! Compressor has a more gzip friendly variable renaming scheme (or something); i.e. while Packer might make your scripts smaller on disk, Compressor makes them smaller on the wire. So unless, for some reason, you’re incapable of having your server gzip javascripts you’re probably going to get better performance from the YUI! Compressor.
